June to June
I was thinking as I left work this afternoon how it’s pretty crazy that it’s June again. It happens every year, but between Junes in my life this year, quite a lot has happened. I was thinking I needed to spend some time reflecting upon it all, taking it in. From marriage to graduation to going-on-3 jobs, June to June this year seems to have been a string of significant life events. Hope the next June to June stretch gives us a bit of rest…but I’m of course pessimistic.
It seems like I need to go into a bit of recollection, a bit of introspective looking back. Trying to put the past year in perspective with the rest of the story of life is a pretty important thing for me. I’m the kind of person who likes to synthesize an event or a season of my life as I move out of it or soon after, as I prepare to meet the next. It’s like God and I need a chance to talk strategy, to figure out where we are again after a tumble or a trip or even just a long lap around life’s racetrack (man, I’m getting abstract…).
So, here’s where we are today: 1 week left at my current job. 2 weeks until Stacy’s done with her first year of teaching. It’s been roughly a year since graduation. Almost a year until our first anniversary. Do I set out to analyze and synthesize now? What’s coming next? Hmmm….if only those answers were easy to get at.
Look for more of these posts to come, I’m feeling a few introspective rants coming on…
Cheers.
